Berkshire Local Schools

Berkshire Local Schools District hired Inventionland Education to design and build six Innovation Labs within their new K–12 campus. Each hallway anchor contains a multi-use collaborative workspace designed around the grade levels on that wing. Berkshire’s superintendent, Dr. John Stoddard, was inspired by Inventionland’s headquarters and wanted the workspaces to reflect the future of education while promoting project-based learning.

This particular maker space is the Bright Ideaz Innovation Lab, created for students in grades 9-12.
This space was inspired by Inventionland’s Tree House which is wall-to-wall light up dry-erase panels, but with a sci-fi twist.

My role included concept art, 3D modeling and rendering, graphics, and production art for the elements throughout the space. The lab features light up dry-erase boards, themed mascots, and wall art. A simple touch of a button can change the entire vibe of the room, changing the colors of the light panels.
We were invited back to participate in the school’s grand opening, revealing the new campus to the community.

The project was recognized with an Outstanding Project Award in Learning By Design Magazine’s Spring 2023 Educational Facilities Awards Showcase.
